Scheduled jobs
Reminders, backups, campaign sending and automatic updates run from cron. Each job is a URL on your own site that cron calls with your cron key.
1. Set a cron key
Open Settings & Secrets › Integrations & API Keys, set a cron key (a long random value) and save. Every scheduled URL refuses a call without it.
2. Copy the lines
Open Settings & Secrets › Cron & Scheduled Jobs. It shows the exact crontab line for each job, with your domain and key filled in, and a Copy button. Add them on the server with crontab -e.
The key travels in an X-Cron-Key header, so it never appears in your web server's access log. The lines also resolve your domain to 127.0.0.1, so the calls go straight to the server rather than through a CDN.
The jobs
| Job | How often | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign and newsletter sending | Every minute | Sends queued messages in batches |
| Appointment reminders | Every 5 minutes | Reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before a booking |
| Review requests | Every 5 minutes | Sends queued review requests |
| Service-call reminders | Every 5 minutes | Reminders before scheduled visits |
| Scheduled social posts | Every 5 minutes | Publishes posts that are due |
| Gift-card dispatch | Every 5 minutes | Emails gift cards scheduled for later |
| Database backup | Every 15 minutes | Runs a backup when your backup schedule is due |
| Software update check | Hourly | Installs updates only if automatic updates are on |
| Status page check | Hourly | Records uptime for your public status page |
| Abandoned-cart reminders | Hourly | Emails shoppers who left items in their online cart |
The settings screen does not list the abandoned-cart job. If you sell online, add it by hand in the same form as the others, calling https://your-domain/api/store?action=cart_remind hourly with the X-Cron-Key header.
Checking they run
Settings & Secrets › System Health lists recent errors, when each scheduled job last ran, the send queue, disk space and slow requests.
